Art critic " Apsolute painting "
Jelena Minic’s “absolute painting” reveals strong expression, which is its own goal, which does not allow rationalization of any kind and which escapes barren intellectual generalization – in other words, everything is subjected to pure play without boundaries, to unpredictable combinations and to our experience that spontaneously turns these events into metaphors – but this abundance of creativity, which cannot be contained by any logical manipulation, radiates unbelievable energy and strongly revives our weary emotions, although the essence of this play remains irrational and illusive. But that’s even better...
In Jelena Minic’s paintings, which represent a true scope of frolic art activities, as in river mud deposits, you will discover different spectacles and objects, placed in the same plane – fish bones and pieces of glass, crumpled paper and rags, pieces of mirror, Clark Gable’s kiss, drawings of naked women in the shower, sand and glue, invitation to love and sex, collages made of eyes, anything and everything – therefore the painting, refined by color effects, becomes some kind of remaining sediment of civilization in decay, whose debris is engraved in mud of our memory.
Jelena Minic’s paintings are some kind of art labyrinths, which we are conquering with the sense of great concern for our own future, for what is waiting for us in the next century – but through those same labyrinths we’re going with the sense of joy, for living in age so rich with different events and experiences that there was something for us to leave in the mud behind us!
